President's Message
Welcome to Monongahela City, Pennsylvania's second smallest city. Please don't let the term "small" fool you! Although we are smaller than what most think of as a "city" we are abundantly rich in history, architecture, and social variety. The quintessence of small town ambiance is apparent everywhere. Nature's best is exhibited by the town's rolling hills and winding Monongahela River.
As a life-long resident of Monongahela, it is my priviledge to serve as the president of its historical society, an organization of 130 members, that's dedicated to preserving the past for its future generations. Our musem is filled with archives of historical documents and other artifacts, some over 200 years old. Past residents were proud participants in taming the frontier as well as taking part in the famous Whiskey Rebellion of the 1700's.
I would personally like to extend an invitation to visit our wonderful small town or " city " and get to know the friendly people who live here. Monongahela is truly a place where you can feel safe, raise your children, and hear people say,"Hi, neighbor, How you doin?" knowing that they really want to know the answer!
